Boss Life Privacy Policy
The short version
- Boss Life has no ads, no analytics, no crash-reporting service of its own and no in-app purchases.
- You do not need an account to play. The game never asks for your email, phone number, location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
- Your game is saved on your phone. It only leaves your phone if you use Google Play Games cloud save, or if you choose to send a bug report.
- AIA Cyber runs no server for this game and receives none of your data unless you send it a bug report yourself.
- Boss Life is meant for players 13 and older.
What stays on your phone
Boss Life keeps these in the app's private storage on your device:
- Your saved company: your progress, money, staff, purchases, story choices, in-game messages, and the character name, look and company name you choose. Backup copies of the save are kept next to it.
- Settings: sound, music, haptics, reduced motion, camera and graphics options, and whether the away reminder is on.
- A local play log: a record of how the game is used on this phone (screens opened, games played and their scores, in-game purchases, frame-rate numbers, and basic device facts such as model, Android version and screen size). It never leaves your phone on its own. You can turn it off or clear it in Settings.
- Small bookkeeping files, such as which tips you have already seen.
The in-game "texts" on the Boss's phone are part of the game's story. They are not real text messages and are never sent anywhere.
To remove everything, uninstall the game or clear its storage in Android settings (Settings > Apps > Boss Life > Storage > Clear data). Boss Life turns off Android's automatic app backup, so your save is not copied by that feature.
Google Play Games cloud save (optional)
Boss Life can keep a copy of your save in the cloud through Google Play Games Services, a service provided by Google.
- If Google Play Games has already signed you in on your phone, Boss Life uses that sign-in and keeps a cloud copy of your save. You can also sign in from Settings. If you cancel the sign-in, the game keeps working and saves only on your phone.
- When you are signed in, the game uploads a copy of your saved company to Google's "Saved Games" storage for this game, tied to your Google Play Games profile. It includes the names you chose and a short summary line (cash, number of offices, last played) that Google's screens may show.
- Uploads happen after progress is saved, at most about once a minute while you play, and when you leave the game.
- Google handles this data under the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Play Games Services terms. Google may collect information through its own services. Boss Life does not receive your Google email address or other account details, and AIA Cyber cannot see or change your cloud save.
Bug reports (only if you send one)
The game has a "Report a bug" tool. If you use it, the game packs a bundle on your phone: a screenshot, a copy of your save, recent lines of the local play log, the game version, your device model, Android version and graphics chip, graphics settings, and a short note you type. Nothing is sent automatically. You choose whether to send it, and where, using Android's share menu (for example, email). If you send it to AIA Cyber, we use it only to find and fix the problem, and we delete it once the issue is resolved.
Notifications
The game can show one optional reminder when your team has earned all it can while you are away. It is off until you turn it on. Your phone creates it locally; it is not sent from a server, and nothing about it is shared. On Android 13 and later, Android asks your permission first.
Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
INTERNET | Only so Google Play Games cloud save can reach Google. |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS | For the optional away reminder, only if you turn it on. |
VIBRATE | Haptic feedback. You can turn it off in Settings. |
Boss Life does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files, phone state or the advertising ID.
Ads, analytics and sharing
- No advertising and no advertising ID.
- No analytics or crash-reporting service of our own. If you install Boss Life from Google Play, Google may give developers anonymous crash and performance statistics (Android vitals) under Google's policies.
- We do not sell or share your data. The only third party involved is Google, as described above.
- Some game text can be copied to your clipboard when you tap a button that says so. The game never reads your clipboard.
Children
Boss Life is designed for players 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us a bug report, contact us and we will delete it.
Deleting your data
- On your phone: uninstall the game or clear its storage. "Clear play log" in Settings removes just the play log.
- Cloud save: use Settings > Delete cloud save in the game. You can also delete Play Games data from the Google Play Games app.
- Bug reports you sent us: email andrew.wright@aiacyber.com and we will delete them.
Security
Local files are kept in the app's private storage, protected by Android. Cloud saves travel over Google's encrypted connections.
Changes
If Boss Life ever starts collecting or sharing new data (for example, if ads or analytics are added), we will update this policy before that version is released and change the effective date above.
